6-Carboxyfluorescein (6-FAM) is a synthetic fluorescent dye with excitation at 495 nm and emission at 517 nm, derived from fluorescein by addition of a carboxyl group. It is widely used as a tracer, in nucleic acid sequencing, and for nucleotide labelling.
