Alloferon-1 is a synthetic peptide made to be identical to the naturally occurring Alloferon-1 originally isolated from the blowfly larva (maggot), Calliphora vicina. It contains 13 amino acids and, while chemically identical to the insect-derived molecule, is manufactured synthetically.
