Is Ammonium vegan?

Ammonium

Unconfirmed

Ammonium is a positively charged molecular ion (NH₄⁺) formed by the protonation of ammonia, and is also a general term for protonated substituted amines and quaternary ammonium cations in chemistry. In cosmetics, ammonium salts such as ammonium lactate may be derived from animal sources (e.g. lactic acid from whey) or from plant or synthetic sources. The vegan status depends on the specific ammonium compound and its origin.
