Paprika extract (E160c), comprising the carotenoid pigments capsanthin and capsorubin, is a natural red-orange food colorant extracted from the fruit pods and seeds of red pepper (Capsicum annuum). It is used in a variety of food products for its colouring properties. It is exclusively of plant origin.
