Is Coal Tar vegan?

A thick, dark liquid or semi-solid byproduct obtained from the destructive distillation of bituminous coal. It contains a complex mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons and is used in medicated shampoos and dermatological preparations for conditions such as psoriasis and dandruff.
