Is Dihydroxyacetone vegan?

Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a simple three-carbon sugar primarily used in self-tanning products, where it reacts with amino acids in the skin to produce a brown colour. It is commercially produced by bacterial fermentation of glycerol.
