Is Ferrous vegan?

Ferrous refers to iron in its +2 oxidation state (iron(II)). The term is used as a prefix or adjective to describe iron(II) compounds such as ferrous chloride. In cosmetics, ferrous compounds are used as colorants and may occasionally be derived from animal-containing sources, though most are synthetically produced.
