Is Ferrous Sulfate vegan?

Ferrous sulfate is an inorganic iron(II) salt that occurs naturally as the mineral melanterite. It is produced commercially from iron and sulfuric acid and is used as an astringent, antimicrobial agent, and iron supplement in cosmetics, medicine, and food fortification.
