Is Keratin vegan?

Keratin is a fibrous structural protein found in the hair, nails, hooves, horns, and feathers of vertebrate animals. It is commercially extracted from these animal-derived materials and used in hair care, cosmetics, and textile treatments for its conditioning and strengthening properties.
