Natural Red 25 is also known as lacca.

Shellac is a natural resin secreted by the female lac insect (Kerria lacca) and processed into dry flakes or dissolved in alcohol to make liquid shellac. It is used as a glazing agent in food (E904), in cosmetics, and as a wood finish.
