Is Nucleic Acid vegan?

Nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) are large biomolecules found in the cells of all living organisms and viruses, composed of nucleotide monomers. In cosmetics they may be used as skin-conditioning agents. They can be derived from plant, microbial, or animal sources, making their vegan status unconfirmed without knowing the specific origin.

Classifications are made to the best of our knowledge based on available scientific and regulatory sources.
