Is Squalane vegan?

Squalane

Unconfirmed

Squalane is a fully saturated hydrocarbon (C30H62) and the hydrogenated form of squalene, used extensively as an emollient and moisturiser in cosmetics. Traditionally derived from shark liver oil, it is now also commercially produced from plant sources such as sugarcane, olives, and amaranth, making its vegan status dependent on the source.
