Texas Red is a red fluorescent synthetic dye (sulforhodamine 101 acid chloride) used in histology for staining cell specimens, fluorescence microscopy, fluorescent-activated cell sorting, and immunohistochemistry. It fluoresces at approximately 615 nm with peak absorption at 589 nm. It is a fully synthetic organic dye.
