Is Uranin vegan?

Uranin (Fluorescein sodium) is the sodium salt of fluorescein, a synthetic organic fluorescent dye based on the xanthene tricyclic motif. It is available as a dark orange/red powder that is soluble in water and used as a fluorescent tracer in numerous applications. It is produced entirely from synthetic precursors.
