Is Alitame vegetarian?

Alitame is a synthetic high-intensity sweetener made from aspartic acid, alanine and an amide component, used as an artificial sweetener in food products and registered as EU food additive E956 (INS 956).

An ingredient is considered vegetarian if it avoids components derived from killing an animal.
