Is Bromelain vegan?

Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme complex extracted from the fruit, stem, and leaves of the pineapple plant (Ananas comosus). It is used in cosmetics for its exfoliating and anti-inflammatory properties, and as a digestive enzyme supplement.
