Is Ceramide AS vegan?

Ceramide AS, formerly designated Ceramide 4 or Ceramide 5, is an N-acylated sphingolipid consisting of sphingosine with the D-erythro structure linked to an alpha-hydroxy saturated or unsaturated fatty acid; ceramides can be produced synthetically or derived from animal or plant sources.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
