Chamazulene is a blue-violet aromatic compound found in chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), and yarrow (Achillea millefolium). It forms from the sesquiterpene matricin during steam distillation and is used in cosmetics for its skin-soothing properties.
