Is Choleth-20 vegan?

Choleth-20 is a polyethylene glycol ether of cholesterol, produced by ethoxylation of cholesterol with 20 moles of ethylene oxide; cholesterol used in cosmetics is typically derived from animal sources such as wool grease (lanolin) or animal tissue.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
