Is Corticotropin vegan?

Corticotropin (ACTH) is a polypeptide tropic hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland, traditionally extracted from animal pituitary tissue (e.g. porcine) or produced synthetically/recombinantly, used medically to stimulate cortisol production. Because animal-extracted forms are common, it is classified as not vegan/not vegetarian by default.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
