Ethyl 3,4-Dihydroxybenzoate, also known as ethyl protocatechuate, is the ethyl ester of 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (protocatechuic acid). It is a naturally occurring phenolic compound found in peanut seed testa and wine, and can also be produced synthetically for use as an antioxidant and preservative in cosmetics.
