Is Fluorescein vegan?

Fluorescein is a synthetic organic xanthene dye available as a dark orange/red powder. It is used as a fluorescent tracer in numerous applications including ophthalmology, microscopy, and water tracing, and is slightly soluble in water and alcohol.
