Is Hornet Silk vegan?

Hornet Silk is a fibrous protein obtained from the cocoons of hornets, insects of the genus Vespa. It is an animal-derived (insect) material used in some cosmetic and textile applications.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
