Lactoferrin is a multifunctional iron-binding glycoprotein of the transferrin family, naturally present in milk, saliva, tears and other secretions. It can be purified from cow's milk or produced recombinantly via biotechnology.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
