Is Lipoid vegan?

Lipoid is a term describing fat-like substances (lipids and lipid-like compounds) found in both animal and plant sources. In cosmetics, it is used to describe emollient and skin-conditioning ingredients. The vegan status depends on whether the specific lipoid compound is animal- or plant-derived.
