Malachite Green

Vegan

Malachite Green is a synthetic triarylmethane organic dye used traditionally for dyeing silk, leather, and paper, and controversially as an antimicrobial agent in aquaculture. Despite its name, it is not derived from the mineral malachite but is named for the similarity in colour. It is identified as Basic Green 4.
