Methylal, also known as dimethoxymethane, is a colorless flammable liquid with a chloroform-like odor, used as a solvent. It is the dimethyl acetal of formaldehyde and is soluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
