Is Neral vegan?

Neral is the Z-isomer of citral, an acyclic monoterpene aldehyde found together with geranial in citrus and other essential oils, and is also produced synthetically. It contributes a lemon-like scent and is used as a fragrance ingredient.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
