Ozokerite is a naturally occurring mineral wax (mineraloid) composed predominantly of saturated straight-chain hydrocarbons, mined and refined from petroleum-bearing deposits for use as a thickening agent in cosmetics.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
