Polyisoprene is a polymer produced by polymerization of isoprene; it exists as synthetic cis-1,4-polyisoprene manufactured industrially, or as natural rubber derived from the sap (latex) of rubber trees. Both forms are highly elastic and used in a variety of applications including cosmetics.
