Is Polyurethane-88 vegetarian?
Polyurethane-88
Polyurethane-88 is a urethane polymer formed through a multi-step process combining a polyester made from epsilon-caprolactone and hexamethylene carbonate, with neopentyl glycol and bis-hydroxypropyl dimethicone, reacted with isophorone diisocyanate and capped with HEMA. The presence of dimethicone (a silicone) makes the raw material origin generally synthetic, though some silicone feedstocks trace to variable industrial sources.
