rh-Polypeptide-1 is a single-chain recombinant human peptide produced by fermentation in E. coli. The gene coding for Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (bFGF, FGF-2) is isolated from a human cell, and the protein consists of up to 210 amino acids which may include disulfide bonds and/or glycosylation.
