Is Shellac Wax vegan?

Shellac Wax is a waxy fraction obtained by physical means from bleached shellac, a resin secreted by the female lac bug (Kerria lacca) on trees in India and Thailand; harvesting kills large numbers of the insects, making it non-vegetarian.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
