Sodium Chondroitin is the sodium salt of chondroitin, a natural mucopolysaccharide (glycosaminoglycan) that is a structural component of cartilage. It is commonly derived from animal cartilage (e.g. bovine, shark, or poultry sources), though some fermentation-derived alternatives exist.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
