Sodium Laureth-3 Carboxylate is the sodium salt of an ethoxylated dodecyl alcohol carboxymethyl ether, with an average of 2 to 3 moles of ethylene oxide, used as a mild surfactant in cosmetic formulations. The dodecyl alcohol precursor may be derived from plant sources (e.g. coconut or palm) or from petrochemical feedstocks.
