Is Sodium Succinates vegetarian?

Sodium succinates are sodium salts of succinic acid, produced synthetically or via fermentation, used as acidity regulators and flavour enhancers in food. They are approved in the US (INS 364) but not currently listed as EU-approved additives.

An ingredient is considered vegetarian if it avoids components derived from killing an animal.
