sr-Cat Polypeptide-3 is a single-chain recombinant protein produced by fermentation in E. coli, using a gene synthesized to be identical to the gene coding for Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 derived from cat. Although produced via fermentation, the source gene is derived from an animal (cat) sequence.
