Is TEA-Palmitate vegetarian?

TEA-Palmitate is the triethanolamine salt of palmitic acid, used as an emulsifier and surfactant in cosmetics. Palmitic acid may be derived from plant sources (e.g. palm oil) or animal fats.

An ingredient is considered vegetarian if it avoids components derived from killing an animal.
