Is Ammonium Fumarate vegetarian?

Ammonium fumarate is the ammonium salt of fumaric acid, produced synthetically, used as a food acid. It is approved by Codex Alimentarius and the US FDA (INS 368), though not currently listed as an EU-approved additive.
