Toluidine Blue is a blue cationic (basic) synthetic thiazine dye used in histology for staining tissues and sometimes clinically as a diagnostic stain. It stains nucleic acids and acidic tissue components intensely blue to violet. It is produced entirely from synthetic precursors.
