Is Bis-HEMA Poly(Caprolactone Neopentyl Glycol)/1,4 Butanediol/IPDI Copolymer vegan?
Bis-HEMA Poly(Caprolactone Neopentyl Glycol)/1,4 Butanediol/IPDI Copolymer
This synthetic urethane polymer is formed through a multi-step process: a polyester is first made from epsilon-caprolactone and neopentyl glycol, then reacted with 1,4-butanediol and isophorone diisocyanate, with the resulting polymer end-capped with HEMA. It is used as a film-forming agent in cosmetics.
