Is Cane Sugar vegan?

Cane sugar is sucrose extracted from sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum). In some countries, particularly the United States, cane sugar may be refined using bone charcoal (bone black) as a decolorising filter, making its vegan status uncertain depending on the refining process used.
