Is Category 1 and Category 2 Animal By-Products vegan?

This refers to animal by-product materials classified as Category 1 and Category 2 under EU Regulation (EC) No 1774/2002, comprising the highest-risk animal-derived waste materials, such as those from diseased animals or specified risk material, which are banned from use in cosmetics.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
