Ceteareth-50 is a polyethylene glycol ether of cetearyl alcohol, a blend of cetyl and stearyl fatty alcohols, ethoxylated with an average of 50 moles of ethylene oxide. It is used in cosmetics as an emulsifier and surfactant, produced synthetically from fatty alcohols that are typically of plant or synthetic origin.
