Cinoxate is a synthetic organic compound, an ester of methoxycinnamic acid and 2-ethoxyethanol, used as a UV filter in sunscreens. It is a slightly yellow viscous liquid, insoluble in water but miscible with alcohols, esters, and vegetable oils.
