Is Colophonium vegan?

Colophonium (rosin) is a solid resinous substance obtained by distilling off the volatile oil from the oleoresin (pine resin) of Pinus palustris and other pine species; it is composed mainly of resin acids such as abietic acid.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
