Is Dimethicone PEG-3 Laurate vegetarian?

Dimethicone PEG-3 Laurate is a partial ester of PEG-3 dimethicone and lauric acid, used as an emollient and emulsifier in cosmetic formulations. Lauric acid can be derived from plant sources (e.g. coconut oil) or, less commonly, animal fats.

An ingredient is considered vegetarian if it avoids components derived from killing an animal.
