Equol

Equol is a nonsteroidal estrogenic isoflavandiol metabolized from daidzein, an isoflavone found in soybeans and other plant sources, by bacterial flora in the human and animal intestine. Only about 30–50% of people host the intestinal bacteria capable of producing it.
