Is Ergocalciferol vegan?

Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D2) is a fat-soluble vitamin produced by the UV irradiation of ergosterol, typically derived from yeast or fungi. It can also be obtained from animal fats. It is used as a dietary supplement and to fortify foods.
