Is Erythritol vegan?

Erythritol is a four-carbon sugar alcohol (polyol) that occurs naturally in small amounts in fruits and fermented foods. Commercially, it is produced by fermentation of glucose using osmophilic yeasts such as Moniliella pollinis.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
